Your Guide To Planning the Perfect Bachelorette Party in Canmore

So, you’re looking to plan the perfect bachelorette party in Canmore? We’re so excited to welcome you to the Bow Valley, and you really can’t go wrong with a trip to the mountains with your closest friends and family. Whether you’re local to Canmore, visiting from Calgary, Edmonton, or elsewhere in Alberta, or you’ve come from far and wide to celebrate your upcoming wedding, there’s some planning to be done. While the bachelorette party itself is something to get excited about, the planning can be a bit of a bummer, especially if you’re not familiar with the area. But, we’re not going to let you worry about that on your own. Whether you’re planning a bachelorette in Canmore for yourself or on behalf of the bride-to-be, we’ve rounded up a list of great things to do for groups when you’re in the area. So, get your notebooks and calendars out. This is your Canmore Bachelorette Bucketlist.

Book a Private Barre, Yoga, or Dance Class

WildHeart
is a Barre and yoga studio on Main Street in Canmore known for its fun, upbeat vibes, unbeatable classes, and incredible energy. With Rocky Mountain views through the second-floor windows, a large studio space, and a ton of different class types with talented and fun instructors, it’s more than your average workout and welcoming to students of a wide range of experience and abilities. While signing up for one of their barre, yoga, or mat pilates classes is a great activity to kick off your bachelorette party in Canmore, they’ve levelled up the experience.

You can
book a private class, choose the style of workout, and cater it to your group. For example, you could do a combination class with barre and yoga and even request specific types of music or exercises. Or, you can take it even further and book a private dance class and learn a sultry choreography with your girls. You can add on champagne or mimosas to top it all off and get energized before you dive into the rest of your bachelorette weekend.

Enjoy a Creative Art Party

Canmore is blessed with an awesome hub for arts and creativity called
artsPlace. artsPlace has everything from art exhibits and concerts to art workshops and classes. This place is the ideal destination for anyone who loves all things artistic, whether you’re an artist yourself, a creative person looking to hone in on your craft, or a consumer and lover of art. They offer an ideal group experience that is perfect for any type of special events like a birthday party, group trip, bridal shower, or bachelorette party: private parties. They will get you set up with all of the supplies, instruction, and clean-up, so all you need to do is show up and make your art. You can choose a Clay Pary, where you’ll make a hand-built pottery project, or a Painting Party, where you’ll get an acrylic painting lesson. They’re 2 hours in length and can have up to 20 participants. It’s a perfect activity if you’re looking for something indoors.

Kick Back at the Spa

Spending time at a spa is a quintessential bachelorette activity. Luckily, Canmore and Banff have some incredible options for you to choose from. In Canmore, we’d suggest heading to
One Wellness, where you can book services like massage therapy, acupuncture, and yoga therapy. You can also access the Recovery Zon, which features a polar plunge, aromatherapy steam room, cedar sauna, infrared sauna, vibration mobility therapies, compression therapies, recovery lounge, fitness center, and more.

In Banff,
Fairmont Spa at the Fairmont Banff Springs is an incredible option and a great excuse to go check out the iconic, castle-like hotel in Banff. They offer a wide range of spa treatments, and you get access to the outdoor whirlpool, spa terrace, steam room, eucalyptus-scented sauna, and more. If you’re willing to take a bit of a drive, the Kananaskis Nordic Spa is an unbeatable experience that we know you’ll love. It’s tucked away in the mountains, endlessly serene, and the perfect place to relax and kick back in the most beautiful place.

Indulge on Delicious Food & Drinks

Canmore is home to a ton of incredible bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a great meal and drink with your group. The problem is, it’s hard to choose. If you want the perfect place to eat for your bachelorette party in Canmore, we’d suggest you check out
Where the Buffalo Roam for to-die-for cocktails and great food in an intimate setting downtown, Brigette Bar for upscale mountain dining in a beautiful setting, or Crazy Weed–a local favourite–for fine dining and great wine.

Rent E-Bikes For a Fun & Unique Mode of Transportation

Transportation and logistics become a large and potentially annoying conversation when you’re with a group and visiting from elsewhere. The good thing about Canmore is that everything is fairly close, but you don’t want to waste any of your bachelorette weekend walking. You can rent e-bikes in Canmore to cruise around town easily, and it’s a whole lot of fun. Another great thing you can do with e-bikes is bike to Banff, which is a super fun activity when you take out the heavy lifting of a manual bike. You can grab your bikes, rip to Banff on the Legacy Trail, grab a bite in Banff, and head back before the sun goes down. If you’re curious about where to rent e-bikes in town, we’d suggest
Sports Garage for single-day or multi-day rentals.

Go Dog Sledding or Dog Carting

Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours offers winter dog sledding and summer dog carting if you want to do something cool outdoors. This is extra cool because you can essentially experience dog sledding in the summer, which is really unique and gives you the full experience without having to brave the cold. If you do visit in the winter, we’d absolutely recommend booking a dog sledding tour. You get to spend time in the beautiful Rockies, meet dozens of adorable huskies, and have a blast. The tours are booked up fast, so be sure to lock in your tours in advance.

Head to Banff for Dinner or Karaoke

If you’re visiting Canmore, there’s a good chance that you’ll be eager to check out Banff, as well. There are so many things to do in Banff, both indoors and outdoors, so it’s extra hard to choose. Banff has an amazing food and beverage scene, so if you are venturing out there, we’d suggest you put a meal on the itinerary. We’d suggest checking out
Hello Sunshine for amazing, high-end Japanese cuisine. You can even book a private karaoke room to make it way more fun. Or, just above Hello Sunshine, is LUPO, a phenomenal Italian restaurant that has a gorgeous interior that will transport you to the streets of Italy and delicious, fresh pasta and pizza, among other menu options. Another favourite is Bluebird, which has great brunch, cocktails and appies in the lounge, amazing fine-dining dinners, and a great happy hour.

Enjoy VIP Indoor Golfing at CanGOLF in Canmore

Last but not least, head to
CanGOLF in Canmore for a super fun evening of food, drinks, games, and golf simulators. You can book a golf simulator, where you can eat, drink, and play. Just visit the bar, which is always buzzing and has a ton of arcade-style games to play, occasionally a live DJ, and Reverse Happy Hour from 9 pm to close every day of the week, or you can book the CanGOLF VIP Sim Package, which is essentially bottle service right at your golf simulator.

The VIP package
includes two hours of dedicated simulator time, a bottle of locally-made spirits from Wild Life Distillery, a variety of mixers and chases of your choosing, and 15% OFF all food on our menu. You’ll have a dedicated server, and this package is for up to six people. Your simulator will have additional seating, extra privacy, and everything you’d expect from a VIP experience. Of course, you can elevate your package with additional simulators or simulator time, more bottles or extra types of drinks, custom catering add-ons, and more people. You’re also welcome to substitute your bottle for prosecco or a beer bucket, among other options. This is the perfect idea for your bachelorette party in Canmore!
